
Please do not laugh at me. There was a time when I thought that Tiramisu was from Japan. So here’s a fun fact!
Tiramisu is actually a no-bake Italian dessert made of ladyfingers soaked in espresso, layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks, sugar, and mascarpone cheese, and dusted with cocoa powder. It originated in northeastern Italy.
Tiramisu translates to “pick me up.” From the words Tira meaning “pick/pull”, Mi meaning “me”, and Su meaning “up.”
